Orders and Shipping

MODIFY FURNITURE will use reasonable commercial efforts to deliver the Product as described and in a timely manner.

Colors depicted at the Site are coded based on the RGB color system. As monitors may vary, a true color may be difficult to appreciate when viewing online. We are happy to send you RAL or RGB color information if requested prior to purchase.

Colors/samples- depicted online will vary based on one's computer screen. We are also happy to send you a color-card with photographic representation of each color upon request. Should you wish to receive a sample of the painted steel or bamboo components, we are happy to send these to you for a small fee. The sample cost will be waived upon return of samples or purchase of an order. If you purchase an item and are unhappy with the color, please refer to our refund policy.

As a company, MODIFY FURNITURE prides itself in offering choices. We offer several shipping options so that customers can decide for themselves what works best for them. As our furniture is made to order based on a “just-in-time” business model, typical delivery time can be expected in the 4-8 week range. Fully customized or special order items may be subject to longer shipping times, and shipment times will be addressed with the customer at the time of order for such fully customized or special order items.

Flat pack delivery door-to-door (standard shipping option): For people who know the difference between a Phillips head and a straight head screwdriver (don’t worry-you don’t actually need either), we will ship your new MODIFY FURNITURE products to you partially assembled in a flat pack box with clear instructions and a quick assembly process.

Eligibility for Free Shipping: All items costing over $1000 and total purchases over $1500 are eligible for free shipping when destination is within the United States.

Standard Shipping Cost: For product shipments that are not eligible for free shipping, the shipping charge will be calculated and and customer will be notified of cost prior to completion of order for any location within the continental United States. For shipments to Alaska, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and other countries, additional charges may apply. International Shipping charges will not quality for standard shipping charges and will be discussed with customer on a case by case basis.

Shipping of Special Order Items: Shipping method and shipping cost for special order items will be discussed with the customer prior to purchase and/or shipment.

Room of Choice Delivery Service: We recommend the “room of choice” delivery service – where Modify Furniture products are delivered to the specific room desired by the customer, for customers in apartments, multi-unit buildings or offices. “Room of choice” delivery does not include unpacking, assembly or removal of packing materials. It also does not include moving of existing items in the delivery location. A surcharge of $150.00 will be applied for this service. White Glove Delivery Service: For people who have never seen a hex wrench or just don’t want to see one, we are happy to offer the “White Glove” delivery service which includes a delivery appointment, inside delivery, assembly and placement in your room of choice along with removal of all packing materials. The “White Glove” delivery service does not include wall mounting, electrical services or structural changes to the room or existing furniture. For total purchases costing under $2,500.00, a surcharge of $300.00 will be applied to your order upon choosing white glove delivery service. For total purchases costing between $2,500.00 to $6,000, a surcharge of $350.00 will be applied to your order upon choosing white glove service. For purchases totally greater than $6,000 , white glove service surcharge will be calculated and discussed with customer prior to confirmation of order. and discussed with customer prior to confirmation of order. Saturday, Sunday, after hours, specified tight delivery windows and holiday deliveries are also available for an additional charge. The “White Glove” delivery service generally requires one to two weeks from the time of shipment to the time of delivery and assembly in your home. If White Glove service is opted for, the customer understands and agrees that his/her name, email address, delivery address, and other contact information will be supplied by Modify Furniture to the shipping agent to coordinate delivery and assembly of the purchased item(s). White glove service restrictions

This service is available for purchases delivered within the United States.
Deliveries requiring cranes or window removal are not available.
The delivery personnel are not permitted to handle furnishings already in your home, so it’s important that you know ahead of time where the product(s) will be placed, and plan accordingly. The Modify Furniture product specifications (height, width, depth, weight, and other relevant details) are available for each product so you can be properly prepared.
Modify Furniture is responsible for making payments to its shipping and delivery vendors directly. You, the customer, are NOT required to pay anything to the shipping and/or delivery vendors at the time of delivery or at any other time. Any and all such payments made by the customer to the shipping and/or delivery vendor or its/their representatives for any additional or existing services are at your sole discretion and cost. You understand and agree that Modify Furniture will not refund such payments under any circumstances.

We want you to love your Modify Furniture. And we realize that sometimes what you see online doesn’t work in your space the way you imagined. We are happy to accept returns on any items purchased online within 14 days of delivery to your home from Please contact us for a Return Authorization prior to returning any product. You can initiate a return on items from your "My Orders" page at the Site. Check off "Return Item" next to the item you wish to send back, and we will promptly contact you with further information.

Refunds are issued after returned items have been received, inspected, and processed. We are under no obligation to accept any returns of Product where the defect or damage was caused by you. Refunds are issued based on the original form of payment, subject to any applicable restocking fees. Should you have any questions about the status of your return, your refund, or need instructions on how to return an item, please contact us via email, or call us.

If the product is not defective, the customer is responsible for all shipping costs including initial delivery plus an industry standard 25% restocking fee. The products must be returned in their original packaging, and in new, unused condition. A refund will be submitted to the original payment method minus the shipping and restocking fees upon delivery and inspection of returned items. Kindly ship with a carrier that provides tracking numbers, and request insurance to ensure safe return.

If the purchased item has not yet been processed by us, we are happy to cancel your order with a full refund if canceled prior to the point at which we begin processing of your order. If an order is cancelled after the order has been processed, customers desiring to cancel their order will be responsible for a 25% restocking fee.

For sliding panels, we are happy to exchange stock colors for cost of shipping only. We will not charge a restocking fee as long as the components are returned in resale condition (upon inspection by Unfortunately, fully customized items (custom colors or configurations) are not refundable. In this case, please call us and we will try to work out a satisfactory solution.

As a company, part of our mission at Modify Furniture is to promote and support independent artists from the community. Most of our artist-designed pieces are made to order for you upon purchase and therefore not refundable. These items are labeled as non-refundable at the time of purchase. These products may be cancelled for full refund if the item has not yet been processed, so it is best to contact us promptly should you decide to cancel special order items.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns for purchases made from other retailers. Please contact the original retailer directly for information about their return policy.

Damaged items
If a component of your purchase is deemed defective, Modify Furniture will furnish a repaired or replacement component at no cost, after an evaluation of the defect. Modify Furniture will pay for all shipping costs related to the defective component. It is the customer’s responsibility to pack the product appropriately for secure shipment. The product should be returned in its original packaging, but if this is not possible, it is the customer’s responsibility to procure suitable alternative packaging.

Shipping damage must be reported immediately upon receipt of your item directly to Modify Furniture. If there is visible damage to the box, please refuse delivery and contact us immediately upon receipt of damaged packages. For product damages concealed at the time of delivery, please obtain photos of the damaged item and the packaging it arrived in. Please save all packaging so we can document the damage to the shipping company. If customer signs the shipping company delivery receipt “received in good condition”, or does not report shipping damage directly to Modify Furniture within 48 hours of receipt, no shipping damage claim can be accepted.
